Saturday, August 24, 10:30 am, Shabbat Morning Service & Torah Service
Saturday, August 24, 7:30 pm, Havdalah Fire & Star Talk (registration required for this evening event, all events free of charge)
In the heat of late summer, Rebekah Erev, Nomy Lamm and guest Kohenet Rayna Grace will offer Shabbat services and a special Havdalah bonfire and star talk. This is the fourth and final offering in a series of services and workshops exploring the elements and their connections to the Kabbalistic Tree of Life.
Fire is associated with Atzilut, the world of Emanation. In these services we will center our inner fire, the creative passion that we radiate, knowing that we ourselves are beings created by the emanations of the stars. Atzilut is the spark that comes before an idea, the glimmer or impetus that tells us something needs to happen. Fire brings with it a precariousness and a rebirth. It differentiates us from other animals, in that we are able to work with it intentionally.
Humans have always watched the stars and made stories about them. Rayna Grace will offer stories based in the Jewish priestess Netivot, the pathways and archetypes of our lineages, so that we are able to see ourselves and our work in the maps of the stars.
Please join us for an embodied feminist Shabbat, full of song, prayer and magic!
All events are free, please email us to register for the evening star talk, to get the address.
